Hansen, Linder, Dinsmore, Millberry
Memorial Grove Bag Lunch Picnic |
|
|
For
the past year and a half some of our membership have been working
to create and plant the Hansen, Linder, Dinsmore, Millberry Memorial
Grove at the corner of 3rd and 4th streets in Lakeport. The land
was donated to the city by Bob Millberry for the purpose of a
native plant and wild flower walking park.
On May 6, 2008 the membership gathered at the park for a picnic
and to view the progress. We were also there to view the redbud
planted by the club in honor of
Carol Kesey and the dogwood in honor of Jo and Jerry Shaul. Our
President, Claire Grieve, planted forsythias in memory of her parents,
and in honor of Bob Millbery, Carol Kesey, Jo and Jerry Shaul,
and Jo Douville. Jo Douville planted a forsythia in honor of Claire.
It was a beautiful day all around. The weather was perfect, the
park looks great and a good time was had by all . |

2008 Daffodil Tea |
|
|
The
2008 Daffodill Tea on March 18th was a big success. There were
75 people in attendance. The pictures show the lovely basket arrangement
made by Shirley Estrem, the table of specimens, the table of arrangemnets
done by our memebers, the head table with our president's guests,
the pictures of daffodils done by the second grade students in
Pat Hopper's art class and some of the tables with their guests.
A large number of the people in attendance went home with great
door prizes donated by the members. Our Mistress of Ceremonies
was Jo Jameson doing her usual superb job.
Chairman for the event was
Linda Waterstraat who also did an outstanding job. |

2007 Club Excursion to Sweet Memories
Butterfly Farm |
|
|
On
July 28, 2007 seventeen members and guests visited the Sweet Memories
Butterfly Farm in Potter Valley. We were given the tour and lecture
on raising Monarch and Painted Lady butterflies by the owner Dee
Dee. It was both educational and inspiring. We all went home with
tiny Monarch caterpillars and milkweed for them to feed on. |

2007 Daffodil Tea |
|
|
The
Daffodil Tea, Clear Lake Trowel & Trellis Garden Club's annual
party was attended by approximately 81 members and guests. This
year was a tremendous success due to the wonderful job our Chairman
Linda Waterstraat did organizing the tea. She had the support of
many members who donated gifts for the raffle and daffodills for
the arrangements and specimen table. Many thanks to all of them.
Everyone in attendance seemed to have a great time enjoying the
nice sandwiches and desserts and the repartee of our Mistress of
ceremony Jo Jameson. |

2005 Club Picnic and New Officer Installation |
|
|
In June we had our club picnic,
held at the Clear Lake State Park, it was a blessed beautiful day
and lots of good company and fantastic food to share. This was
a wonderful time to get acquainted with spouses. Sharon Thorne
creatively presented an installation of incoming club officers
using trees as an analogy. A big tasty cake was enjoyed as celebration
of the clubs 50th Anniversary. |

|
Visitors to our booth learned about our club and native plants and their children were entertained making Heron masks at the Clear Lake State Park "Heron Day Festival" on April 23, 2005. In spite of the gloomy, rainy weather there were a good number of people checking us out and buying the native plants we had for sale. |
